ORANGE BLOSSOMS.

WATTS— PARKER.

A pretty wedding, which evoked a considerable amount of interest, took place afc the residence of Mr Charles Parker, Paraekaretu (Rangitikei), on Thursday last, the 23rd inst., the contracting parties being Mr Francis Henry Watts, of Mangatoki, and late of Wanganui, second son of the late Mr F. H. Watts, of " Featherston," Makirikiri, and Miss Agnes Parker, eldest daughter of Mr Charles Parker, of Paraekaretu. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in a becoming cream brocaded silk, with pearl and lace trimmings, and wore the usual orthodox veil and orange blossoms. She also carried a shower bouquet. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold muff chain. The bridesmaids iv attendance were Misses Amy and Fanny Watts (sisters of tho bridegroom), Miss Ida Parker (sister of the bride), and Miss Jessie Watts (niece of the bridegroom), who wore very pretty dresses of cream lustre. Each wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr James Taylor, of Silverhope, as best man, aud Mr Jack Parker, as groomsman. The officiating minister was the Rev. A. W. Gardiner, of Napier. After the ceremony, an adjournment was made to the woolshed, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honored. The happy couple were the rec'pients of many presents. Later in the afternoon, Mr and Mrs Watts left by the evening train for Palmerston North, en route to Wellington, amidst showers of rice and rose leaves, carrying with them the congratulations and best wishes of many friends. The bride's travelling dress was a pretty costume of grey coatiug, with white facings, and hat to match. — Wanganui Chronicle.
