Lord Kitchener reports that General Ben Viljoen was captured in tbe neighbourhood of Lydenbuig, wbich doubtless will have a considerable effect on tbe Boers northwards of tbe railway.

Colonels Rawlinson and Eerr, duriDg a night march from Tafelkop to Allenkopje, captured 30 Boers belonging to S try don's commando.

Tbe National Scouts, southward oi Grootolifant Station, on a night march captured 11, including Commandant Hans Botha.

Colonel Wilson, on Friday night, captured Commandant Strydon and 20 men at a farm at Frankford. A strong force at .the town attacked Wilson, enabling most of tbe prisoners to escape. Tbe Boers were repulsed, and ten killed. Colonel Wilson's casualties were eight. Received January 28, 1 a.m. London, January 27. Major-General Bruce Hamilton captured 12 Boers at-Boschuansfontein.

Corporal Dupriez and 13 men sur rendered at Irene.
