Wellington, January 24. Last night Mr Charles Bird, who recently retired from the, position of captain of the Ntflson Fire Brigade, after 35 years' service, and Mr William Cooksey, late secretary of the same brigade, of which he has been a member for 35 years, were each presented with a purse of sovereigns.
