The Continental Press comment on the amendments to the Address dealing with the war, and say the more moderate idea of settlement by negotiations instead of fighting has been abandoned. Received January 24, 11 am.
Sydney, January 24.
The First Contingent has practically completed enrolment, and the Second has been started iv the various States. The transports Manchester, Merchant, and St. Andrew arrived at Albany- The former brings a number of returned troops.
