At the Waverley Championship Meeting, in tbe Men's Championship singles, first round, Ross beat Griffiths 6-5, 6-4, and Dickie beat Brown 60, 6-0.
In the Ladies' Championship Singles, Misa Powdrell beat Miss Cave 12-3. Miss Powdrell has thin event in her hands.
In the Ladies' Championship Doubles, first round, the Misses Dickie beat Miss Skeet and Miss Thomson 12-3. °
In the first round Men's Handicap Doubles, Dickie and Wallace beat Tuke and Stanford 9-5.
In Ladies' Handicap Singles, first round, Miss Read was put down by Miss Fussell 9-7.
In'the Men's Handicap Singles, first round, Brown (owe 2 6-15) lost to Wallace (owe 30) 9-2; Stanford lost to Fussell 9-8 ; and Tuke (owe 15*) lost to Peat (rec. 15) 9-1.
In the Ladies' Handicap Double", Miss Sheet and Miss Thomson (rec. 15) beat Mrs Kimbell and Miss A. Read (rec. 150 9.3.
