The Fire Brigade Committee recommended that plans of new Fire Brigade station be adopted, and the architect be instructed to have specifications prepared at once ; that a new bell be procured for the new station.

The report was adopted. The Chairman said the intention was to remove one of the old bells to the section in Wilson street belonging to the Council. It was proposed to start a brigade in Eltham, and he moved, That the Town Clerk write and inform the Eltham people that the Council has a manual engine and hose and fire-bell for sale.

Cr Morrissey seconded the motion, which was carried.

STEAM ROLLER. Cr Fake said .the steam roller had been at work in Regent street, and in his opinion was giving satisfaction. He would like to see other streets* rolled. The maximum cost would be £2 5s per day — perhaps less.

The Chairman said the work would have to be all ready for the roller, to obviate delay.

Cr Parkin, Chairman of the Public Works Committee, said that would be done as far as possible. Cr Haughey was satisfied with the work of the roller, and he moved that the whole of the metal be blinded and rolled.

Cr Brunette seconded the motion. He pointed out that in the east end of High street the centre of the road was not used because it was rough, and it would be good if the roller went over it.

The motion was carried. BATHS.

The Chairman said the Mayor had got some information regarding the proposed baths.

Cr Haughey moved, That Or Bobbins' name be added to the Committee.
