Melbourne. October 24. Seahorse was absent from the tracks, having contracted a cold after the racing at Oaulfield. He also cut himself while galloping. 1000 to 8 was taken about him foe the Cup, and he was then supported at 100 to 2. War God is supported at 100 to 5, Lancaster 8 to 1, Severity 10 to 1.
Ingleston did a mile in 1.485. Cornquist, assisted by Jumbo in the last, six furlongs, coveted ten furlongs in 2 17J : Lancaster,, ten furlongs in &21 ; Ben Bolt, the same distanoe in 2.19J.. Sagacity, not fully extended, did a mile, in 1.49£. There is no definite favourite for the Derby; 2 to 1 the field.
