ADDINGTON MARKET REPORT.

The entry of fat cattle was smaller than it has been for some time, the number yarded being just 100. The range of prices was— Steers, L 6 17s°6d to L 8 17s 6d; heifers, L 5 5s to L 7 15s ; cows, L42s6d to L 7 ss, two extra good ones being sold for L 8 and LlO 7s 6d. Beat beef realised 23s to 25s 6d per 1001b, and medium to good 19s to 225.

The dairy oattle pens oontained some useful animals, and sales were made at from L 3 to L 6, and up to L 8 5s for extra good sorts.

Fair business was done in store cattle, among the sales effected being : Dry cows, at L 2 10s to L 3 10s, and up to L 4 and L 4 10s for nearly fat animals; eighteen-months to two-year-old, L 2 14s to L 3 8s 6d ; fifteen to eighteen-months-old, L 2 8s to L 2 lls ; calves, LI 12s.

Fat sheep: Freezing wethers brought from 19s to 235 ; heavy wethers up to 255 ; unfinished sorts, 18s 3d to 18s 6d ; shorn wethers, 15s 6d to 19s 6d (the latter price being a record for the first shorn sheep of the season) ; beat ewes, 19s 3d to 255 ; shorn ewes, 15s 9d to 17s ld ; merino wethers, 14s 7d to 20s sd.

Fat lambs from 10s 9d to 16s 9d.

Store sheep : The principal sales were 124 hoggets at 13s 3d, forty-two do. at 13s 3d, sixty-seven at 16s, fifty wethers at 17s Id, sixty- three ewes and lambs all counted at lls.

Figs : The range of values was — Baconers, 32s to 435, equal to 3&d to s|d per lb ; porkers, 20s to 325, equal to 3sd to 4d per lb ; suckers and weaners, 4s 6d to 10s. Stores, which receded slightly in value, brought from 10s to 15s, and some of the larger sorts up to 20s.
