AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET.

Horses: Heavy draughts brought from L2l to L 36 10s ; medium do., Lls 5s to L 23 17b 6d; light harness do., L 7 173 6d to Lls 12s 6d ; hacks, L4ssto L 6 17s 6d. Cattle : Oxen, LI to LI 3s 1001b ; cow, 17s to 19s ; fat steers sold at from L 6 23 6d to LlO 10s ; cows, L4ssto L 9 17s. Dairy cows sold at from L 3 10s to L 6 12s 6d. Sheep : Wethers sold at from 13s 9d to LI 3s 3d ; ewes, 12s 9d to 19s 9d. A draft of 112 Waikato wethers averaged LI 2s 3d. Spring lambs sold at from 8s 6d to 13s 9d. Pigs : Porkers sold at from 17s to LI Ids ; weaners, 7s to 14s 6d. The cattle fair, held at Papakura, was one of the most successful Bales held for many years, buyers being represented from Taranaki, Waikato, Tauranga, Waiuku, and all the surrounding districts. We yarded upwards of 3000 head, and ' cleared the lot, almost without exception. [ Without doubt £ finer lot of cattle, as regards both breeding, quality, and condition, could not have been yarded, showing that the settlers are taking greater care to improve their herds, and thereby getting better prices. Grown steers sold at from L 5 123 to L 7 6s ; 3to 4 year-old bullocks, L4ssto L 5 12s 6d ; 2to 3 year olds, L 3 to L 4 7s 6d; yearlings, L 2 to L 2 18s; empty cows in forward condition, L 2 18s to L 4 14s ; heifers, L2to L 3 6s.
