A large number of manufacturers competed, both English and foreign,- and it is satisfactory to know that the result is in favour of the British workman. The examination, which was conducted by about seven experts in Pianos, was a severe one, and as no maker's name appeared on any of the Instruments, there is no doubt as to its fairness.
