OBITUARY.
(per press association.) Wellington, October 4. Mr William Skey, Colonial Analyst, died to-day. The deceased gentleman was appointed laboratory assistant to Dr. mow Sir James) Hector, Government Geologist, in 1862. He received the appointment of analyst to the Colonial Geologioal Survey Department in. 1865, holding the position till 1893, when he was transfezred to the Mines Department. ,
