r To-morrow evening the Wanganui Syn! 5 dicate Company's seoond popular enter- , tainment will be given in the Opera House. Speaking of a recent performance, the • Chronicle says .--The seating (and also the standing) capacity of the Opera House waß taxed to its utmost last evening, The programme was of a varied nature, comprising jokes, jigs, choruses, songs, solos, dances, duets, and ditties, coming upon each other in quiok succession, and served to keep the audience in a good humour. Misb Rose Clifford made her first appear1 ance, and scored a deoided success in her various solos. Mr' James Drisooll (first > appearance) in his invisible alaok-wire act t displayed remarkable aotivity, and waß . loudly applauded, while Alf. Vautaire and I Jack Sheldon proved an interesting and i amusing pair. The old favourites (including Mr Cbas. Naylor) were in good voice, , and acquitted themselveß in a creditable E manner. The grand finale was "Bike the ( Actor," m whioh Messrs Naylor and Voss played the leading parts, and suoceeded !n ' > keeping the large audience in convulßiona I 1 of laughter throughout.
