UNDERWOOD SENTENCED TO DEATH.

Stonk*, Ootober 2. Jftoky Underwood was sentenced to death for the murder of Percy Mawbey. No bill was filed against Jacky Potter and Jimmy Governor's wife.
Both were discharged.
RUSSIA AND THIBET.

London, October 2.
The Czar's envoy to the Thibetans, Dr. Dadmeyeff, although a Mongolian, took costly presents to Dalai, the Lama, at Lhassa, the ohief town. The mission, through the agency of the priesthood, was successful. The Thibetans are ready to receive the Russians. The Lama is sending gifts and an autograph letter to the Czar' in return.
