STEAMER AGROUND.

Westport, October 2.
The Poherua, in leaving port at 8 o'clock this morning, took ground near the entrance, temporarily blocking the port. The sea is smooth, and no damage has been sustained. The vessel is making no water. It will be unnecessary to lighter the vessel, and no difficulty is anticipated in getting her off at flood tide this afternoon.
