The quarters revenue decreased by £48,000 compared with the previous corresponding quarter. Melbourne, October 2. A ship has been chartered to load a cargo of wheat for .the English Channel, at the extreme rate of 40s. Two others for February are loading at 86s 3d.

The quarterly revenue returns include the following :— Customs, £5,626,000; excise, £9,078,000 ; stamps, £1,880,000.
