TWO "WOMEN MURDERED.

Melbourne. October 1.
A tragedy occurred in East Brunswick. Edward Harrison informed the police that Sarah Johnston, with whom he was living, suicided. The woman's throat was cut, and there were signs of a terrible struggle. Later Harrison admitted that he angered her by drinking, and killed her in a fit of passion.
Charters Towers, October 1.
A laborer named Samuel Collins shot his wife, and then blew out his own brains. The woman is likely to recover. Jealousy was the cause.
