The Evangelical Council has issued a protest against the Governor attending mass in his official capacity at the recent dedication of St. Mary's, doing what the Queen herself is by her ] oath precluded from doing, and in listening to Archbishop Redwood's attaok on Protestantism, which was a direct calumny of the Queen, as head of the Anglican Church, and her Frotes tant subjects. London, September 14. Lord Hopetoun, being entertained by his tenantry, in a speech said he oontemplated with pride and satisfaction the great trust confided in him. He had the greatest affection for Australians.
