There are at least a dozen steamers of large refrigerated capacity and intended for the Australasian trade in various stages of construction in British shipyards, and some five or six more are "on order. 11

The New Zealand Farmer, October,|lß97 says : — With the incoming of spring and the opening of the dair season, as regularly as the rush, of the new grass and the coming in of the cowa, comes the liability to a certain class of cattle ailments always to be looked for, and, thanks to science, always to be guarded against. Forewarned is forej armed ; at the same time there are gome farmers who are inclined to run risks, and who, in the last resort, go for the veteri-nary-surgeon to save a valuable animal, to find in the end that he comes upon the scene too late. The value of a remedy, always to hand and as invariably efficacious, is thus enhanced sevenfold. Should no

case arise for its use, there is at least the feeling of confidence that, should need arise, the remedy is at hand.
