Glendhu is rising three years old, is a beautiful dappled , bay r roan, standing 16& hands high, with immense bone, measuring 12 inohes- helow the knee, and proportionately well Glendhu is by the celebrated sire Glengyle, by Prince of the Isles. Glendhu's dam, Blossom, by S'r William Wallace, by Sir William Wallace (imp.). Blossom, Glendhu's dam, took first prize.at Hawera as a 3-year-old, 1887; first as a brood mare, 1888, first at Taranaki, 1891, and first and champion as a dry mare, 1894 ; also first at Hawera, 1895. Blossom's dam, Darling, imported by W. Cubbin, Esq, is by that famous horse Black Champion (imp.), and bred by Messrs Moore and Kermocie, Tasmania her dam, Eate, is by Waimea Hero, by Thdne of Clyde, imported from Scotland by the late Hugh McLean, of Invercargill. Waimea Hero out of Croydon Kate, imported from Sydney by Richard Hill, Esq, of Croydon station, Southland. Glendhu took first as a yearling at Hawera show, 1894, and first same age at Taranaki show, beating the colt Glenlivet at both the above places (the colt taking first at Palmerston, Wanganui, and Wellington). Glendhu as a 2-year-old took first Hawera, and Wanganui in 1895, and has never been beaten in his olass. Good paddocks for mares, with all care, but without responsibility. J. 8. Ab a 3-year-old he won the Free Handicap at the Hawke's Bay J.C.s Spring Meeting, the Trial Stakes at the Wanganut J.C.s Spring Meeting, the .Egmont HandU oap of 2 miles at the Egmont R.C. Autumn Meeting, the Normanby Stakes at the same meeting, the Flying Handicap at the Manawatu R.C. Autumn Meeting, the Flying Stakes at the Wanganui J.C. Autumn Meeting (after running Manton to half a length), finishing up the season by winning the Hawke's Bay Cup, one mile and three-quarters, valued £408 10s, and the Railway Stakes at the same meeting. Loohnagar haß won a number of races, both on the fiat and over hurdles, and has sired several winners, and being the only pure bred son of The Painter living should be highly valued on that account by all lovers of a well-bred horse.
