On Saturday afternoon Mr Thompson, resident engineer, acting under instructions from the Government, proceeded to Stillwater, accompanied by Mr Blow, Undersecretary for Publio Works, Mr Gully, Crown solicitor, Mr Mclntosh, railway manager, and Mr Hannan, Crown prosecutor, and took formal possession of the Midland Railway Hoe and plant, mainly on the ground of the unreasonable or inexcusable delay in the completion of work, and breach of contract.
