The Land Board met on Monday. Present—The Commissioner of CrownLands (chairman), Messrs Stoak, Healop, and Boy.

TBANSFERS.

The following applications were re* oeived to transfer p.l. lands: — G. Jen* rings, sec 25, blocks, Ngaire, to P. W. Wickbam ; B. McCracken, sec 8, block 8, Ngaire, to A. S. Tonka ; J."Pfenninger, sec 23, blook 12, Ngaire, to J. N. Boddie ; J. McLeod, sco 7, block 9. Kaupokonui,' to D, McLeod. Applications granted. G. Harper, as administrator of tbe estate of H. J. Dawbin (deceased), applied to transfer p.l. section 13, block 6, Kaupokonui, to Mr 0. Keave. Granted, subject to inspection of letters ot administration.

CAPITALISATION.

ACQUIRING FREEHOLD.

APPLICATIONS FOR TIME.

T. Bobson .and J. T. iQain applied for time to pay off the capitalised value on license to occupy sections 43 and 44, block 1, Hawera, and sections 6 and 7, block 14, and 12 and 21, block 13, respectively ; the former for six months and tbe latter 12,

On Mr Stock's motion, the board resolved to-inform the applicants that it has no power to deal with tbe applications ; that tbe licensea expire on the 80tb inst., when tbe money should be paid ; but that tbe matter will be referred to tbe Hon. the Minister for Lands as to tbe action to be taken.

IN COMMITTEE.

The board went into committee to consider the ranger's report on sections inspected by him in the . Mangimingi block. Mr G. O. Turner, one oi the settlers, again appeared and exhibited a petition from the settlers to the Honi, tbe Minister for Lands for relief. .- ; The report was read, and, it was deoided to forward it for tbe favorable consideration of the Government. Tbe board resumed. FORFEITED.

The Chairman reported that Mr Major had not paid : ibe arrears of rent of lcstalments on section 5,. block 8, Huiroa, within the time allowed by the board, viz., to the 15th met. It was decided to declare the section forfeited for* non-compliance with tbe conditions. K&POttGA. J. Monro applied to purchase or lease eeo 25, village of Kaponga. It was decided to offer sees. 2o and 25—-the only unsold sections in the village— at auction. bangeb's heport. It was decided to offer, all unsold sections in the town of Manaia. RECOUPING LOCAL BODIES. On Mr Heslop'B motion it was resolved, That in the opinion of tfafs board it is desirable that the Government should be aeked to make provision to reooup tbe local bodies with tbfe.Mvenue load by the purchase money ofi lands held on d.p. and p.1., being paid for partly or wholly in scrip. TRANSFERS.
