Crioketers met at P'ConßdU'f Hotel on Wednesday evening ip consider formation of a district dab and' reoeiva oommanica* tions re " coaob." Telegrams were rend from Mr Mills, stating tbat be accepted the position of ooach to the district dub on the terms offered, wbieb were considered satisfactory. There were nearly 20 cricketers present at tbe meeting. Mr White was voted to tbe chair, and ea> plained various matters connected with the proposed district dub. Some diffi* culty was experienced in finding a bouse for tbe •'coach," and it was suggested tbat a Bub-committee be formed to eanvaei tor members and find a boose. Eventaftlly it was resolved that a District Olnb be formed, and also a cab-committee, eon* Bietmg of tbe two captains of the Hawera and Star Clubs, tbe two secretaries, together with Messrs G. Syme, janr., Riddiford, and Moore, to draft rules, secare house, arrange about management of ground, canvass for members, and report results at an early date. Both dubs will meet on Saturday nigbt, when tbe committee, no doubt, will riport progress. The committee met after tbe meeting dosed, and sat till a late hoar, and succeeded in putting things generally into good working order.
