. g (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.' WELLINGTON, August 8. Tbe woman Caroline MoGovern wa9 committed for trial for performing an illegal operation. A woman named Coleman, a witness in the case, having been promised a free pardon, gave evidence willingly. Mr Hoben has been asked to attend a Conference of the Australasian Football Unions in Sydney to be beld on a date convenient to him in order to give practical effect to his proposals respecting tho formation of an Australasian Rugby Union. Mr Campbell, president of the New Zealand Union, who oonveyed the proposal to Australia, was informed by a member of the committee of the English Union, who was visiting Sydney, that tbe proposals would be a welcome in England.
