The Education Board met on Wednesday.
CLOSING SCHOOL. < Tbe action of the Ngaire School Committee, in closing tbe Ngaire Sohool on account ot diphtheria, was approved of. LEAVE OF ABSENCE.
The board granted two months' leave of absence to Miss Maloom, teaober of the Otooai School, on account ot ill-health, •nd authorised the chairman to arrange for % temporary teacher. Mißi King, of the Toko Sobool, was •Ibo granted leave of absenoe for a fortnight, owing to indisposition. OPUNAKE. Correspondence was read in reference to the appointment of pupil teachers in the Opnnake Sohool, after the consideration k of which the board resolved— '• That the temporary assistant 'in the Opunake School be withdrawn, and the pupil teachers requested to resume their duties until the expiration of the 'three monthß* notice, whiob they olaim under the board's regulations; that Miss Grainger be appointed assistant teacher in the Opunake Sobool as recommended by the •ommittee. — News.
