WAITARAj In the following cases the rent ie| opposite each section was accepted at Mr Williams' Waitara meetings :— Samuel Knuckey, 163 acres, at 4a 6d per aore; William Cole, 215 acres, at 6| 41 per aore; James Hine, jnr., 167 acrei, at 4a 8d per acre ; Hodson and P«tcb, 75 acres, at 4s lOd; Walter Cramp, 137 acres, at 4s 6d per aore ; J. J. Fisher, 148 aom, at 4s 5d per aore ; George Jay, 200 aores, at 4s 2d per acre; R. J. Ovenden, 82 acres, at 4s 9d per aore ; Jameg Hine, senr., 190 acres, at 4b 3d per aore ; F. and' J. Viekery, 125 aereu, at 4s 6d per acre sN John Whitehead, 92 acres, at 3s 9d per acre. These leases were all taken at tbe Pnblic Trustee's valuation. The lessee! appeared quite satisfied with the prioe, placed upou the land, bus the natives did not attend very well, owing probably to ft petition being promoted, asking for & return of the lands on tbe ground that tht confiscation should never have taken plaoe.

From Joanna King, applying for ft pupil teachership. Resolved that she be appointed.

Application for an enlargement of lohooi. Held over and plaoed on list of argent work.

MANUTAHI.

Letters complaining of tbe oondition of the roof and bad state of tbe tank were received, with the request that the Board take some action. Referred to Mr Bridge, with request to report at next meeting.

HAKAIA.

From Lucy Moosemao, re oadetship. Resolved that applicant is too young, sod that she be asked to apply again in eiz months. Resolved that Reginald Brennaa be transferred from Manaia to Kapuni. Application for funds to put the Board's buildings into repair, estimated cost to school and house being £3 12* 6d, while painting and papering the residence would cost about £11, Mr Hurley reported tnit the house was in a really bad condition. He would move that the £3 12s 6d should be granted. Mr Beckett seconded. Carried.

Mr Hurley spoke concerning the rent of a small piece of land in that district, (be tenant of which declined to pay now as be considered it had nothing to do with tbe Committee. Resolved that the Board apply to him for the rent now due.— Chronicle.
