The attendance at the second day's play in the All England matob was good, and tbo weather fine, but the wicket was hpavy owing to the rain over night. Tbe remainder of the English score waa : Shrewsbury (not ont) 52 Lockwood, b Trumble 11 Attewell, std Blackham, b Trumble 0 Scorer, o Bannerman, b Bruce ... 25 Extras 16 Total 416 Giffen took 4 wickets for 118. Trumble 8 tor 83, Bruce 2 for 40, Tamer 1 for 52. The Australians, in their first innings, made 120— Bannerman ... 19 Giffen 17 Gregory 21 McLeod, not out 27 Peel took 6 wickets for 65, Waiowright 2 for 15, Lockwood 1 for 26. Following on, the colonials did very little better, as they have lost 7 wiokets for 136. Giffen 13 Bruce 46 Gregory, not out 49 Trumble, not out 11 Shrewsbury and Storer scored rapidly at tbe finish of the Englishmen's innings. The Australian batting was very tarns, and a oomplete contrast to thp spirited display of the first day. In the second innings, however, Bruce hit brilliantly, but, with the exception of Gregory, no one followed his example. Tbe fielding of the Englishmen was faultless. Feel's bowling pazzled all the batsmen except MoLeod. Lateb. The attendance at tbe match to-day was small. The weather was fine, and the wicket in better order. In the Australian's second innings Blaokham iojured his thumb and retired.
