At our fortnightly sale at Kaponga on tho 16th inst., there was a large entry of cattle. We quote— 2l -year steers, £4, 10s to £4i 15s ; 18-month to 2-year steers, £3 16s; 18-month steers, £3 ss; 12 to 18-month steers, £2 18s j weatters to « yearlings, 33s to 41s ; cows, JE3 5s to L3-12s 6d ; 18-month heifers, quiet, L 3 7s 6d. Dairy stock — Cows, up to j>s 103 ; heifers, springing, JM- to JE4 10s. At Manaia, on 20th inst., 700 cattle and 2000 sheep were yarded. All the cattle except two pens changed hands before leaving the yards, The greatest demand at present is for steera with age fit for turnips, and dairy heifers. We quote — 8-year steers, £o 6s to JBS 9s ; 2£ to 3-year-olds, £4, 9s to £& 19s ; 2-year steers, £A ; 18-month steers, £3 14s ; 12-month steers and heifers mixed, £2 9s ; store cows, £3 ssto_>3 7s6d; 18-month heifers, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s ; 18-month to 2-year dairy heifers, £2 15s to JE3 13s; weaners, 30s to 355 ; quiet heifers, backward in calf, £&; fat' bullocks, light weights, £6 13s ; fat'heifers, £4, 4s 6d to £4, 7s 6d. Sheep.— Fat wethers, 13s ; fat ewes, 9s 9d ; store ■wethers, lls.
