Road Communication Between Taranaki and Waikato.

AUCKLAND, June 16.
At a meeting of members of tbe House of Representatives and looal bodies to consider tbe requirements of this provincial dietriot, a resolution was carried unanimously in favor of a dray road oonneoting Taranaki with the Upper Waikato country; that Mokau and Porotora tunnel section of the northern main trank lino be constructed next gummer, opening up a large area of land in possession of the Government in the Auokland district to settlement, and the completion of the purchase of five million acres of native lands as soon as posßible.
