WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of tbe above board was held on Tuesday, 23rd Mny. Present — Messrs P. McCarthy (chairman), Woods, Stevenson, Downey, Stone, and McEeown.

Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence : — From J. Boague, re deviation ot Inaha road.

It was resolved that the County Council be written to re Hutchison's d.p. thirds, and reminded ot its promise to place money at disposal of Board.

From G. A. Hurley, asking if board would give a subsidy of £ for £ for £10 eaob, to be given by himself and W. Young for work on the Upper Oeo road. Held over till next meeting. At a later stage Mr Hurley waited on the board to advocate claim, but the previous decision was allowed to etand.

From W. Blair, resigning his seat on board.

From E. H. Clement, stating the Publio Trustee had objected to gravel or shingle being taken from Waingongoro reserve for Normanby road.

From Receiver of Land Revenue, stating that a further sum of £266 4s 8d was available, making a total placed to tbe credit of the Board from Land- Fund of £730 11s lid. A Bum of £103, included in the above amount, could cot be scheduled, and he stated there was no information regarding it available in land office.

From clerk Stratford County Connoil, notifying that the loan for Finnerty road was duly carried. — Resolved that tbe necessary steps be taken to carry out the provisions to complete tbe loan.

Eesolved that engineer take legal advice as do the power of the Board to stop excessively heavy traffio on bnsh roads.

The engineer reported that the timber and cement for the Kaupokonui Skeet bridge was on tbe road.
