(FROM OtJE OWN CORRESPONDENT.} After Mr McGuire'a meeting, a number of the audience met together for the i purpose of initiating a movement towards passing the coming winter evenings in a more pleasing and profitable manner than heretofore. After considerable dis- j cussion, it was decided to form a " Mutual Improvement Society." About twenty names were banded in for a start, and a committee of seven were appointed to draw up rules, &o.
