LONDON, May 17.

The Prince of Wales paid an official visit to tbe various courts in the Imperial Institute to-day. He met with a gorgeous reception. It is estimated that fully 25,000 people were piesent.

Mr Gladstone, who walked with tbe Prince of Wales and bis party, waa hooted tbe whole round, and the eoene created a painful impression.

Amongst those present were the Duke of York, Princess May, the Duchess of Teck, Prince and Princess Christian, the Dake and Duchess of Connaughc, the Dake and Dncbess of Fife, Prinoe and Princess Henry of Battenburg, members of tbe House of Lords and House of Com* mons ; also the leading membeis of labor societies.

The Duke of York, Princess May, and the Marquis of Salisbury met with a great ovation. Mr Smith, the Victorian representative, presented eaob of the royalties with a catalogue printed on satin, with gold letters. His daughter presented the Dnchess of Teok with a bonquet of flowers.

The Prinoe of Waleß expressed himself highly gratified at the various oolonial courts, and addressed a few remarks to tbe Agent-General and offioials of the courts.
