AUCKLAND. May 13. Richard Sandall, a well-known amateur boxer, dropped dead in his shop this morn* iog after a friendly tassle with a young man named Edward Burke over tbe possession of a packet of cigarettes. The deceased was aged 29, and married, bat no family. Sandall was one ol the defendants in tbe case of the fatal glove fight which resulted in the death of Richard Forgie. Dr. Giles, E.M., gave judgment for defendant in cases Natives v. John Lnndon, in connection with the Eaitaia purchase. Tbe claim waa for £800 alleged to be the balance of purchase money doe to tbe Datives by Lundon, who j aoted aB Government agent in connection I with the natives' purchase. The Magistrate, in giving bis decision, said it was not proved defendant was guilty of fraud. He bad not made his balanoe out of tha n atives, but out of the Government. Tb at was not a matter for him to go into. Lundon made a handsome profit out of the Government, as 4s 6d an acre was a good price for the land. Tbe costs of defendant were over £100.
