A Determined Attempt at Robbery.

A most baretaced attempt to rob the till of -Mr Wales' hotel took place on Thursday afternoon (writes our Normanby correspondent) . It appears that Mr Wales was ont, and Mrs Waleß was in charge of the house. A man came in and called for a drink. Mrs Wales Berved him and left tbe bar for a short time. On returning, she found, the man behind the bar, with bis band in the till. She at once seized him by • the arms, and called oat for assistance. The man tb'en caught ber by the throat and tried to get away, bat Mrs Wales managed to hold him till assistance came. The man was handed over to the polioe, and on being searched it was found that be had twenty-five shillings and elevenpence on him. The man is a stranger, to Normanby.
