CHEESE AND BUTTER MARKETS,

John McNairn and Company, Glasgow report under date 17th February: —

Batter. — Since our last there has been another smart drop in Danish, bat this week a Btnart advance has left prices where they were this day fortnight. There will be another afrance again we expect in Copenhagen this week, in sympathy with the better demand on this side. With Danish advancing in price, it is helping tbe sale of Colonial, which has been very slow for the last fortnight ; bat at the close tbere is more doing, and firmer prices are established. The heavy shipment by the Borne is now landed in London, and is being fairly well oleared.

Cheese. — Cheese are in much the same position as oar last. Canadian and United States are very eearce and wanted, and aa far aa we can see will be so until we receive tbe new season's Roods in May or June. Our New Zealands by the Kaikonra arrived last week. We are clearing these at 56s to 58s. Tbe quality is very satisfactory.
