NEW PLYMOUTH, March 1. Tbe alleged " dummyism " oase waß resumed this morning. Alfred Trimble was recalled, and gave evidence relative to Hendy'a signature in certain leases.

Charles O'Hara Smith was then examined, and said be had been instructed from tbe department to lay an information against Hendy. : He remembered reporting on the charges against Hendy and Pease to the Mimstter of Lands, and had no objection to a copy of tbe report being produced. He bad lodged three other informations against Hendy, and would go on with tbe fourth, even if defendant was acquitted on the three. He bad not tbe slightest personal feeling in the matter. He bad" received .instructions to institute tbe strictest enquiry into all charges- like the present.

The alleged dammyism oase was continued. O'Hava Smith's evidence closed tbe oase for the prosecution, -when Mr. Samuel submitted that no prima facie case bad been made out. ■ The Bench adjourned till three o'clock, when the magistrates will give their decision.
