Owners are reminded that a final payment of 5 soys. is due on the Egmont Handicap this (Saturday) evening. Acceptances for First Hack Hurdles (10s) and First Hack Flat (10s) must also be made this evening. The first acceptance of 10s for the Egmont R.C. Sires Hack Produce Stakes, 1895, will need the attention of nominators at the same time.

Fishmonger, in charge of S. Fergus, arrived from Auckland last evening, and has found" quarters at Faber's stables. Mr. H. H. Hayr, wno owns * ne hur4* c candidate, came down by the same train.

J. B. Williamson's trio, Tulloch, Eve, and Tit, are expected this evening ; and J. Kean, who is bringing Lottie down, will, it is reported, come at the same time. The Taranaki contingent will be down on Monday. Most of these are putting up at Flynn's stables, where boxes have been secured for Mutiny, G-allant, lonic, Shiela, Snapcap, and Cutlass. Hearn and Kennedy's team will also be accommodated at these stables. Melas and Durus will arrive on Monday. Private boxes have been taken for the pair. Captain Russell's repreeentatives, St. Katherine and Krina, have arrived. The pair are in charge of W. Edwards, and are occupying boxes at Wilson's stables. Poinsettia and Potango have reached Hawera. They have been sent on to quarters at Normanby. Word from Wanganui states that the Egmont Handicap candidate Prestige is an unlikely starter for that race, having, it is reported, gone amiss. If true, this is to be regretted, as the already small field will be still further reduced by Prestige's retirement. Disquieting rumours, too, are abroad about iJoulanger's condition, but it is to be hoped they may prove unfounded.
