Auckland, January 26. Cattle.— The number brought forward has been up to the average, and the previous week's values were maintained. Competition was ■ steady, but not keen. Top sorts of fat beasts reached 245; insufficiently fattened 20s. Some averages of steers were :—! M. £7 15s, £7 12s 6d, £7, £6 19s 9d, £6 18s 9d; cows : JBG 7s 6d, £5 12s 6d, £5 7s 6d, £5 5s 6d, £4 17s 6d. Sheep were in short supply. Wethers sold at from Us to 143 9d each ; ewes, 7s 6d to 9b i lambs, 6s 3d to 13s.
