Hawera, January 26. vVe had a fair number of stock entered foe our sale at Stratford on Friday, the 13th insfc., /which, considering the wet day it turned out to be, was well attended, so that most of the cattle yarded were sold at or immediately after- the sale. We quote : 18.months to 2-year steers £3 to £3 19s, 12 to 18-months mixed cattle 54s 6d to 57s 6d, springers £4 to £5 2s 6d. Our fortnightly stock sale at Hawera was held on Wednesday, the 25th inst, though owing to the severe weather prevailing, the attendance was smaller than it would otherwise have been. The yards were well' filled with cattle, most of which, were sold before leaving ithe yards. We quote : fat and forward bullocks £5 to £6 ; 2 to 21-year steers £3 18s to £4 2s, 12 to 18-months Bteers £2 10s to £3 >7s 6d, weaners 35s to 87s, store cows £3 to £3' 1:1s 6d, 18-months heifers £2 18s 6d to £8 2b.
