The Land Board met on Monday. Present— The Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman), Hod; Mr. JReUy, Mr. Livingston, and Colonel Trimble. TRANSFER. H. B. Lattey's application to transfer , deferred payment eeotion 24, block 10, Hniroa, to E. Barnes, was acceded to; and J. Scott's application to transfer section 6, block 10, Ngatimarn, to W. Graham, was refused. With' regard to the application of A. S. Boberts m to hit brother's application to transfer a section to Breeze, the board, afterrbearing: tht explanation, granted the request. CHANGE OF TENURE, Mr. 3. Bine applied for a change of tenure to lease on perpetuity of sections 10 and 17, block 12, Hoiroa. Acceded to. CAPITALISATION. ACQUIRING NATIVE &ANDB. It was resolved, That this board is of opinion that it is desirable in the interest of settlement that a speoial agent br appointed to acquire native lands for the crown in the Taranaki land district, it the rapid sale and settlement of crown lands will soon exhaust the available supply. The board, therefore, recom. mends the Government ' to take stepewithout delay to secure native land so that the extension of settlement shall be continuous beyond the lands at present ia the possession of the crown. ' • , APPUCATION UNDER LAND ACT. Mr H. Irvine, made an application under seotion 114 of the Land Act, 1892. Application was refasid, -Mr. Irvine being disqualified. ■ . . r* i Henrico Turohi also made a similar application for land at Onaero. The application was postponed till a surveyor's report on the land may be obtained. PROPOSED EXPENDITURE.
