Jones and Spiers, who were third and fourth last year, have, oddly j enough, also secured only £2 each. Later. Rose, of Auoklaad, who has been lead* ing for some time for the belt, and who was tie with Humphries, Napier, when beginning this range, only got on 15 and fell away to fifth place. Humphries retained his position at the head with a score ot 27, but Arthur Ballinger gained a point on him and held second position. McCarthy shot into third place with 28, while W. Ballinger's excellent score of 30 brought him up fonrth. Howe and Doughty also improved their positions, and both passed Mooseman, who fell back to eighth place. Tbe following is the prize list in tbe Wellington Match (500, 600, and 700 yds), seven shots counting for tbe belt:— W. The shooting was again bad, though some of the men, especially Henderson, managed to get on a fair score, he scouring first prize with 44, which is two points below the winning score last year. The position of the lead* ing men for the Belt ma little changed, though Humphries gained a point on A. Ballinger and four on McCarthy, who are still second and third. Henderson's 44 brought him up into fifth position, while Mooseman and Rose, who scored 65 and 28 respectively, fall still farther back. Doughty and Erase are gradually closing the gap between them and tbe leader, and as 31 shots are yet to be fired before the Belt is won, they will probably see a still closer position.
