LONDON, January 11. I The French embaßsy in London is being guarded by the polioe. A number of military officers in London have been acoused of corruption, and an enquiry into the charges is proceeding. LONDON, January 11. The Victorian shipment of frozen mutton has nearly all been cleared at 2£d to 3d per lb. The beef from Queensland by the s.s. Ruahine is realising from 2|d to 2|d per lb., and the mutton 2f per lb. The demand for frozen meat is improving. The Liberal party are trying to find Sir E. G. C. Hamilton, late Governor of Tasmania, a seat in the British House of Commons. PARIS, January 11. The National Bank of New Zealand has declared an interim dividend of Is 3d per share. BERLIN, January 11. In the Reiobstag it has been proposed to impose a tas which will yield three millions sterling annually to meet the army expenditure,
