MESSES NOLAN, 'TONKS & CO.'S STOCK REPORT.

Since our last report of the 19th ult we have held several large sales, all of which Lave been characterised by then? remarkable briskness, entries being extremely numerous, and most lines sold at auction, more particularly at Hawera. The yards were well filled with all classes of stock.

The clearing sale on the 18th nit., of Mr. C. W. Babbage's farm and stock was largely attended, everything selling at good values. The farm realised .£9 loa, and was bought by Mr. Nairn (as agent). Cows in calf brought £3 7s 6d, dairy cows £5 to JE6 10s, ewes and lambs 9s to 16s sd, draught horses £16 to £22, hacks £7 to £10 10s.

On the 25th ult. we held an unreserved sale of dairy Btock, on account of Mr. W. McLeod, of Opunake. The cows were good and hi first-claBS order. Prices were exceptionally high, ranging from £4 12s 6d to JBS 5s for dry cows ; springers averaged J3B 3s; cows in milk £7 ss. We quote at Eltham : mixed yearlings 60s to 555 ; yearling steers £3 4s to £3' 6s, 18-months to 2-year steers £3 15s, 2 to 2£year steers £i 5s 6d, 18-months heifers £Z 15s to £3, 24-year heifers in calf .£3 14s 6d, cows and calves £A 9s, milkers £A 15s to £7.

At Hawera : > ear ling steers £2 18s to £3 2s, 18-months steers £3 10s to £3 12s 6d, 2£-year steers M 9s, 3-year bullocks £5 7s 6d to £5 17s, fat and forward bullocks £Q 6s, cows in calf £3 6b 6d to JS3 12s 6d, cows and calves £4 5s to £4> 10s, fat cows £A los, heavy weights .£4 10s to J26 3s, 2£-year hand fed heifers £3 13s to J63 17a 6d, yearling- heifers £2 12s 6d. AtKakaramea: 15 to 18-months heifers 555, store cows £3 10s, fat cows £A 15s, cows and calves £3 14s Bd. Sheep— Shorn hoggets 9s 3d to 9s 6d, hoggets in wool 12s 8d to 13s.
