DOBSON-KENNEDY COMPY.
THE LADY OP LYONS.
The Dobeon-Kennedy Company were accorded a hearty reception last evening, when their Hawera season was brought to a close by the staging of •' The Lady of Lyons." The scenery was most effective, while the costumes were handsome and appropriate. Miss Idrene Thornton's acting was very fine in the character of 11 Pauline Deschappelles " ; and Mrs. Walter Hill, as Pauline's mother, was simply perfect. Miss Violet Sheridan took the part of the Widow Melnotte, and did full justice to it. Mr. Collet Dobson's " Claude Melnotte " was a splendid piece of acting, and he received great favor from the audience. The bluff " Colonel Damas" was taken by Mr. J. J. Kennedy, who, of course, was sooa on good terms with the audience. The acting of Mr. Frank Norton and Mr. Douglas was all that could be desired ; and the other characters were well taken.
