Ministerial Crisis in New South Wales.
(PER PBESS ASSOCIATION.}
LONDON, October 16.
It is rumored in London* that Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of New South Wales, will succeed Sir Saul Samuel as AgentGeneral for that colony.
The Standard, in referring to the political crisis in New South Wales, declares that any Government trying to satisfy the new claims of the Labor Party will drift into even a more precarious position than that held by Sir Henry Parkes. The English press generally refer in terms of regret at Sir Henry's announced retirement from politioal life. The St. James Gazette alleges that financial anarchy and confusion will reign supreme in New South Wales, and that local newspapers suppress information as to the dismissal of Sir Henry Parkes, which, it believes, removes the only guarantee of safety of British investors. It adds that the recent loan was obtained under the excuse of conversion absorbed by accommodation bills with local banks.
SYDNEY, October 17.
Sir Henry Parkes says it is impossible in any way to be satisfied with the present Parliament. He does not think there is any chance of sucoess in the direotion of a coalition, and is decidedly of opinion that there must be a dissolution within, the next few months; He will retire from Parliament.
