OHRISTOHUROH, October 10.
Mr. Peroeval, the new Agent-General, left to-day for Dunedin, where he joins the Wairarapa to proceed to England via Melbourne. A large number of prominent citizens assembled at the railway station to bid him farewell.
Mr. Saunders, M.H.8., addressing his constituents, blamed tbe Opposition for having appointed Mr. Bryce leader, and said it was extremely unlikely that the present leader of tbe Opposition would ever succeed the Premier.
