Hawera, October 16, Our Hawera yards on Thursday were well filled with both cattle and Bheep, the former not being very good caused Jbidding to be rather slack, although, with two exceptions, every pen was quitted. Competition for the latter was not particularly keen, yet it resulted in most lines being placed. We quote :— Cattle.— Yearling steers, 37s to 45s j 18month do, 52s 6d to 67s 6d ; 2-year do, JB3 2b 6d ; 21-year do, £3 11s to £3 13s ; 3-year bollocks, .£5; fat cowb, £3 11s to £4 6s ; Btore do, 57s 6d to £3 2s 6d ; do in calf, £3 6s to £3 15s ; cows and calves, £3 18s 6d to £4 ; springers, M2a6d to £4, 155. Sheep.— Cull hoggets, 11s ; cull ewes, 9s 9d; 4-tooth wethers, Iss4dto 15s 7d; 4tooth mixed sexes, 15s 4d.
