EGMONT FARMERS' UNION (Ltd) REPORT.
On Saturday, October 10th, at the request of many of of clients, "we held oui first horse fair at Manaia. The entries were very large, more coming forward that were advertised, and a good number of th( stock were a very useful class. The atten dance was small, and bidding was slow and a great number of horses left the yardi unsold. We quote :— Hacks, £5 5s to £1. 2s 6d; buggy horses. .£6 to .£10; draughts JB9 7s 6d to £17 10s ; weeds, 30s and up -wards. On Wedesday, the 14th inst., we hel< our usual sale at Manaia. The yards wer filled with useful cattle. The attendanc was smaller than usual, and bidding wa not, so brisk, resulting in several lines' no reaching the reserve. We quote : — 3£ t 4-year bullocks (forwards), J65 to JBS 10s 2syear steerß, £3 17s to £4, ss ; 2-year d< Jg3 6sto £& 15s; yearlings and 18-mont do, 37s to JB3 ss ; fat cows and tieif era, £ 10s to £3 19s ; springers and milkers, £ 6s 6d to JB6 ; 2-year heifers, 54b to 67a 6( Sheep— Ewes and wethers, 4 and 6-tootl 14s 7*d\
