WELLINGT9N, May 7. A proclamation has been issued to-day, proclaiming China and other adjacent ports infected.
INVERCARGILL, May 7. The Te Anou bas been signalled, and is expeoted to arrive at 11.80. It is stated that tbe authorities at tbe Bluff have received no instructions to quarantine the vessel, and there is great excitement at port. A large body of police under Inspeotor Moore, together with Mr. McCullocb, R.M., went down by train j this morning.
Later.
The Premier advises the Mayor and member for Awarua, that the Government o«nnot legally prevent the landing of Chinese on board the Te Anau. He says Parliament will legislate and asks those iv authority to see tbat no disorder occurs. A crowd of people are leaving by tbe 11.15 a.m train for the Bluff, but it is believed the steamer will reach port before tbe train is doe.
