WELLINGTON, January 31.

A conversation on the question of stipends occupied the attention of the Conference for an hour this morning. It was affirmed that there was too eager a disposition on the part ot some circuits to reduce stipends. The Rev. Mr. Morley, General Secretary of Church Property, presented the annual report. The following additions to church property had been required during the year : — Auckland, £2641; Wanganui, £190; Wellington, £725; Nelson, £153; Canterbury, £224; Otago, £333. Reduction of church debts to the amount of £4563 was also reported. Rev. Mr. Martin, of Timaru, was appointed General Secretary for the ensuing year. A committee on the transfer of church property was next considered. During the year a new model deed had been constructed, and an Act passed through the General Assembly. In recognition of the valuable service rendered by Mr. Buddie and the Rev. Morley in connection with the now deed and Act, it was decided to present to each a handsomely bound volume of the New Version, suitably inscribeU; also, that official letters of thanks be sent to Sir H. Atkinson and Sir F. Whitaker. Rev. Lee was appointed authorised representative under the new Act. Rev. Morley presented the report and balance-sheet of the loan fund. Excellent services bad been rendered by tbe fund during the year. The capital now stands at £8025 10s Id ; the report was adopted. Rev. Mr. Morley was re-ap-pointed with authority to nominate a successor to act during his visit to England. The Rev. Mr. Lee presented the balance-sheet of the Children's Fund, and tbe Rev. Mr. Eeid of the Supernumery Fund. The annual income of the former was £1752 11s ; and of the latter £1084 13s 3d. The Rev. Mr. Berry reported the income ot the Contingent tund as £925 17s 3d. The Rev. Mr. Lewis and Mr. Harris were appointed treasurers. WELLINGTON, February 2.

The final session of the Wesleyan Conference was held to-day. In connection with the obituary records of two Maori ministers, the Eev. A. Reid was urged to prepare a history of the early Maori ministers. Rev. Fairclough was appointed conference lecturer. The Board of Examiners was reappointed, with Rev. W. H. Simmonds general secretary. Arrangements were made for the ordination of the Rev. W. "Warena, in Auckland. The pastoral address was read by tbe Rev. W. Baumber, and adopted. The cordial thanks ot the conference were given to the assistant secretaries, hosts, precentor, ministers, and officials of the circuit ; and the New Zealand Methodist Conference closed at noon.
