The second day's races of the Victorian Amateur Turf Club's Spring Meeting took place at tbe Caulfield course to-day. The weather was all that could be desired, and the attendance of the public was enormous. His Excellency Sir Henry Loch and suite were present duringthe day. The following are the results of the various events : — Maiden Plate. One mile. Hon. Divii (lend, Mfenotte, O&kleigh, Recall, Volcano, [ The Levite, and Silvermine were the first away, Reruns getting off badly. Passing tbe stand, Menotte, Volcano, Silvermioe, The Levite, Lara, and Okeleigh occupied prominent positions, Remus recovering some of lost ground. Menotte continued to lead to the tar side, where he was supplanted by Silvermine ; then followed Volcano, Gasburner, Oakleigh, and Lara. On entering the straight, Volcano and The Levite fell to the rear, and Oakleigh resumed command, with Remua close up. A splendid finish ensued all the way home, Oakleigh ultimately beating Remus by a length and half; then followed Dunlop, Lord Allen, Lara, and .The Levite, in a bunch. Pasha and Spade Guinea were never dangerous ; and Volcano came in last but one. Time, 2min 41 Jsec.
